I would have given this story 5 if there had not been echoes of Arabella by Georgette Heyer with the brother in trouble. I feel the author could have found something more original of their own.

I have very much enjoyed Sophia Holloway’s other books; The Devil You Know being my favourite. I found the characterisation a little lacking in this, particularly regarding Henrietta. It’s an enjoyable enough listen though and still vastly superior to a lot of this genre. For a similar but better story I would highly recommend Jude Morgan’s A Little Folly.

Narrator was spot on, the story was lovely, some say slow but quite witty i laughed a few times.

It was a very similar storyline to Jane Austen's Emma. But I did enjoy listening it.

I love the narration and being told a story. I so enjoyed this romantic novel.The characters are wonderful though I'm glad I'm not a woman living in this era as the book gives good insight on what it is like to be a woman living back then.
