About this listen

Six years ago, an ultimatum forced Dan Greyson to make a choice that cost him everything he loved most. One of those things? His boyfriend, hockey player Ashton Yager.

Now that they’ve crossed paths again, Dan isn’t about to let the opportunity slip away. Ash’s reappearance in his life is just the catalyst Dan needs to escape the rut he’s fallen into and win back Ash’s trust and love.

Ashton Yager, once burned and now a little bit shy, didn’t mean to publicly come out as bisexual. But now that he has, he’s got to deal with the consequences, including the fact that it might’ve cost him his NHL contract.

With his job on the line, he needs to keep his head down, work hard, and play the best hockey of his life. Rekindling things with Dan? That’s not exactly keeping a low profile. It’s also never going to happen, not after Dan walked away once without an explanation.

When a hurricane forces Ash to seek shelter out-of-state, he and Dan find themselves in the same B&B, where old feelings resurface. But with everything Ash has on the line, does he dare play with fire again?

I absolutely fell in love with Dan and Ash.
My heart also broke for what they had to endure.
They initially dated 6 years ago but Dan was young and made a bad choice, caving to pressure.
Now he's older, wiser and knows with certainty that Ash is it for him.
He has a lot to overcome, specifically Ash's ingrained mistrust.
Told in flashbacks and current times, the story slowly moves forward as they struggle to find their way back to each other.
This was sweet, sexy, funny and emotionally compelling.
Adam Lawrence did an amazing job giving these characters life.

Slow burn, hurt comfort, second chance

Story: Such a gripping second chance story! I was incredibly invested in the relationship from the get go. Loved the dual timeline the author chose to show us both chapters in the MCs' story. A really brilliant book!
Narration: I have to say it was not my favorite. The narration is clear and easy to follow, the voice is good, so no problem there. It's probably a matter of personal preference, but I wasn't a fan of the voices and inflections the narrator chose for the MCs.

Great story! So great!

I really liked the second chance story of Dan and Ash. I loved that the story moved back and forth so smoothly, giving glimpses into their history. The book was easy to read and included updates from previous book in the series but maintained the story of Ash and Dan. It was romantic, sexy and hot and I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

I really loved Adam Lawrence's narration. I like that he changed voices for different characters. The cadence, speed and his voice really made this a great listen. I definitely recommend the audio as much as the book.

I love a good Hockey Story

I read this book a while back and loved it, now I got the chance to listen to the audiobook and I might even love Ash and Dan even more. I don't always like flashbacks in stories but in this book it is very well done and doesn't take away the flow of the story at all. It is one of my favorite second change romances. Dan and Ash are just so good together. I really liked the scene about their first time because it wasn't al sunshine and rainbows. It felt real and I always love that.
This was the first book by this narrator (Adam Lawrence) I listened to and I really liked his narration.

One of my favorite second chance romances.

Such a well written story! I was fully invested from the outset in both men - hockey player Ash and financial analyst Dan. Theirs is a second chance romance with a lot to overcome for both of them with such heartbreak in their past on both sides and a lot to fight for in the future.
There is a great group of characters, family, friends and teammates that give a great amount of support to both men throughout the story and we have fun times along with sad. Dan decides on taking steps forward in trying to earn back Ash's friendship as Ash is relearning the man he envisioned his future with at one point.
With secrets, weather events and their own thoughts working against them, it takes a lot of work to overcome the past but my heart was breaking for Dan with everything he's been through in the past six years, just wanting him to get his HEA. I love that we still get interaction with Alex and Mitch from book one as well as men that I can imagine stories for in future books.
Highly recommend this book and am looking forward to more from this author.
Great narration from Adam, a lot of emotion coming through from both MC's. The only thing I struggled with was the voice given to Ash, it didn't really match up for me but overall it was enjoyable to listen to.

A great second chance romance
