About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Random House presents the audiobook edition of This Audiobook Will Send You to Sleep by Professor K. McCoy and Dr Hardwick, read by Bruce Alexander.

Sleep smarter

This Audiobook Will Send You to Sleep makes no claims to be fun or interesting. It is an audiobook you can listen to in full confidence that you will find absolutely nothing to stimulate your brain. An audiobook, like no other, that will afford you much sleep and copious amounts of pointless knowledge.

Where else will you hear about the political crisis in Belgium 2007–2011 or study the growth pattern of holly? And from where else can you find, in one place, an overview of railway gauges, a summary of the administrative bureaucracy of the Byzantine Empire and instructions for the creation of a collapsible music stand?

Prepare to fall fast asleep with the most boring audiobook ever published.

Includes soothing soundscape to help send you to sleep.

I was skeptical about this but also bored of sleep apps not living up to their promises.
This audiobook has been amazing. I’ve never yet had my timer run out before I’ve been asleep, and I can’t imagine imagine to stop using it any time soon.
If you struggle to drop off, then I definitely recommend this audiobook. The content and the narration are wonderful.

Unexpectedly effective

I really enjoy this, but I've been listening to it so much I'm starting to know it by heart. The Audible intro and outro fit well within the book and aren't sudden or harsh. When I first got it I almost found the narration humorous in parts. Really like the reading - will check out what else Bruce Alexander has done

The only gripe I have is how it is split. Sometimes I'd like to listen to one specific segment within a chapter to start with and that's tricky to do with how the chapters have been split.

Depending on your mood and/or how familiar you are with the book, I think you could find it funny or comforting or boring or interesting. Well worth a try - I'll be getting the paper edition and would really love a sequel or two (This Book Will Also Send You To Sleep and .... Oh Yes This Book Will Send You To Sleep As Well).

P.S. Put the speed at 3.50 for however long the music at the beginning is. Try it, seriously
please

A heading is required, but can't convey much!

the narator has a pleasant and soothing voice
there is nothing in this book that will keep you awake or focused for long
as an insomniac, this audiobook is one of the few things that can lull me to sleep

utterly boring and extremly soothing

I bought this book because I was curious as to the content after having such a bold title. After many many hours of listening, I still couldn't tell you, I can't stay awake through it, which is extra value for money really because you can listen to it time and time again and remember nothing at all. when I listen to this at night, I always get a deep and lasting sleep, until my alarm or cat awakens me rudely. I look forward to many nights of not remembering anything at all about this book

Fantastically effective

It’s been the most effective thing to send me to sleep. Better than zopiclone that keeps me wide awake. Some of the stories I occasionally find quite interesting but I’ll just listen a bit longer and slowly drift off. It’s not perfect, but very good at what it does.

Sends me to sleep in about an hour.
