This is my first book by Michelle M Pillow & it was enjoyable with some humorous aspects.
Where Dragon Shifter Dimosthenis from the Planet Qurilixen & he decides to risk the life as he knows it by sneaking out through the portal that the Royal Family's Human Wives go out to visit their family & that's what he does & enters into the French District of New Orleans. But he then discovered a small Cajun village, where he rescued the life of Ursa a Widow who was at the end of her tether & then other members of the area like the police chief & they KNOW his Real Name & his Species & that's why they changed his name to 'Drake'
But it's when Photographer Lori is out in the swamps with 'Big Daddy' to take photos of the Alligators & this Lizard Man she heard about & this is when her & Drake's lives turnaround.
And this is when we see the humorous vocabulary that is coming

I think this is a fine book, but I didn't get pulled into the story and invested in the romance as much as I would have liked to. I did like Drake, the male main character, and his cluelessness about earthly behavior. But I didn't particularly got attached to Laurie, the female main character. They were both sweet though, but the chemistry was just a little off for me.
I still think that if you are a space-shifter romance lover, you will likely find the story good, as the writing and story pacing are good.

I really enjoyed this book. This is a brilliant book, laying down the foundation for many more books to come hopefully. The characters are good. The narration by Sarah is great.

I found myself needing to take my mind off things last week as I rushed my dog from one vet to the emergency animal hospital. Stranded with the Cajun was the perfect distraction to keep me occupied and ease my worries. I was particularly distracted by the initiation rituals performed to initiate Drake as a Cajun :)
