About this listen

Donna Noble has never been lucky in love. So when - one day - her Prince does come, she is thrilled to have the wedding of all weddings to look forward to. Though the Doctor isn't holding his breath for an invitation. And her future mother-in-law is certainly not amused. But on the big day itself, Donna finds her castle under siege from the darkest of forces, marching at the head of a skeleton army. When it looks like even the Doctor can't save the day, what will Queen Donna do to save her people from Death itself?

Directed by Nicholas Briggs.

Critic reviews

"All of the stories in this first collection capture the feel of this era of Doctor Who, but James Goss's finale also completely gets the 'turn on a sixpence/dime' emotional writing that Russell T Davies brought to the series. It's aided by David Tennant and Catherine Tate's best performances, and sterling work from Alice Krige, Beth Chalmers and Blake Ritson as the inhabitants of the out-of-the-way kingdom that has had peace for 500 years...." ( Sci-Fi Bulletin)
" Death and the Queen by James Goss is the most original tale presented and the clear jewel of the three. Here Donna is a bride once more and has departed the TARDIS in this brilliant variation on the base-under-siege archetype." ( Blogtor Who)

ever since Matt Smith took up the role something had been missing from doctor who, the show was great until Jodie Whittaker and Chris chibnall took over and made it a political scheme. But ever since the Christmas of 2009 when David left I felt upset that I'd never get another episode with that vibe. thanks for reviving doctor who for me. I'll watch so many more!

Thank you big finish!

Really enjoyed this book, although the price is high for what it is. It's an enjoyable story headed by two of my favourite of the Doctor Who cast, and they have a good laugh with the story.

Death and a great return
