Would you listen to Doctor Who: The Witch Hunters again? Why?

Yes I would listen to The Witch Hunters again. Not for a while due to the intense subject matter but I would listen to it again. It was a very well written and very well excecuted novel about the dangers of hysteria. Steve Lyons is an excellent author and I'm very glad I chose this book. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy the historical Doctor Who stories of the Hartnell era.

What did you like best about this story?

One of the best parts of this book was the references and comparisons to The Crucible. It made it easier to relate to some aspects of the story. I was also an admirer of the plot element regarding changing history.

It was interesting to see the differences in how Susan reacted to being close to a historical event she cared about as opposed to Barbara in The Aztecs. I can safely say that the consequences seem to suit Susan as a character.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I'm afraid that my favourite scene is something of a spoiler so I'll just say the last chapter. The scenes with The Doctor and...someone else at the end were absolutely beautiful.

Any additional comments?

Highly recommended. This book is well worth the time.

She's a witch! She's a witch!

It's been 20 odd years since I read the crucible, I'd loved the story of childhood bullies causing mysery to all those around them by simply telling tales. However I'd read it not knowing the historical truth surrounding those events. Now with this book and reading of it the past is brought to vivid life and the true horror of the Salem witch trials is brought uncomfortabley home in all it's bloody gore. A fantastic novel well read. Possibly one of the doctors best ever historical tales

Breathtaking

It is a good performance from the talker but it isn't exactly a book for thrill seekers as it lacks much action and excitement....😔.However if you like dark eerie tales then this is the book for you because although the storyline is not really the most thrilling adventure ever it still manages to maintain a scary and haunting sense throughout the story. A good book for any dr who fans determined to listen to them all but don't expect much of a action and fight scenes from this book😀.

It's a good book for any full on dr who fan
