hopefully more and better to come. fan of the witcher from the games and even though the book is notibly different I'm still finding entertaining.

There is no better way to describe my feelings towards this series so far as the words in the title.

This being the first novel (the previous being a collection of shorts) I found myself completely lost again in the world of Geralt the Witcher.
Peter Kenny continues to fill me with wonder at his performance and execution of these books and Im so excited to keep going! (I finished this book this morning as I pulled into my works carpark, rolling into my space and then hearing the announcement of the end and immediately downloaded the next one to have waiting for me on the journey home).

Ciri is one of those characters that has intrigued me since the release of the third game (as mentioned in a previous review, I purchased the games some time ago, but didnt start playing until recently). I really enjoyed hearing her origins, and her early life and the same goes for hearing more about Yennefer and Triss.

Personally, I really enjoyed this, being able to connect dots and cross ts with some of the characters origins and back stories was a big up side for me. I love lore hunting and I felt spoilt with this one and I am intrigued as to whether this will continue or we will next be thrust into a completely different point in the world.

Honestly, I must agree with some of the reviews here regarding the ending, it did seem very abrupt, one minute I was submerged in Yen and Ciri's relationship and then all of a sudden the book finished and I was left a little stunned. However, as this isnt a standalone novel and there are more in the series, I felt that it wasnt a huge issue - maybe I will come back to you on that, but for now, I loved every second and I am looking forward to the next park!

I read this after watching series 2 of Netflix adaptation. Both stand well on their own and together.

Love the Witcher games and books but have to listen to this narrater at 0.90x speed.
im not sure what he's trying to achieve to reading so quickly you barely have time to fully appreciate his voices and pronunciation but he should chill out a bit with the speed

Excellent narrator/actor. Story every now and then a bit tedious. (Sword fighting training, council of kings, magic training) But Mr. Kenny works wonders!
