About this listen

cant fault these books they have been a real pleasure to listen too. brilliantly told in parts the suspense was killing me

I've committed myself now. Honestly this book would have gotten 3 stars if not for a joke that had me laughing so hard it will forever be my favourite moment in the series. It's early in the book, about Arya while the 3 characters speak. I won't say anymore for fear of spoiling it.
The jarring husky male voices of the dragons is less noticible to me now, and overall the story is okay. A bit boring, a bit long for what it actually covers. Feels like a fan fiction where the author is determined to hit an impressive word count rather than the words holding substance.
Lord of the rings is much shorter and holds so much more charm, its quality not quantity, but alas... Onto the final book then I can be done.

The characters still the strongest part of the book. But after an explosive first chapter our heroes fall into a cycle of fetch quests and meandering about philosophical questions that ruins the pacing in the middle of the book. The final arc starts great but the side story of the finale which we only got flashes of seemed more intresting than our main characters storyline. I'd say Eldest was a better listen.

once again another amazing read and absolutely exciting with more of Paolini's world building and Gerrard doyle's narration.
