Editor reviews

Any fan of the great British detective would be most pleased with this sterling presentation, ably read by David Timson. Every character, from Holmes and Watson to a German spy, a hoodlum, and Holmes's older brother, Mycroft, is clearly and cleverly defined and vocally dynamic. Each of the seven tales has its own distinct flavor and provides a colorful look at life in England between 1908 and 1914. The only problem with this audio presentation is that the stories are over too quickly, making one long to spend just a bit more time with Dr. Watson and the master of deduction.

Critic reviews

"(The Reminiscences) were written between 1908 and 1913, when the British Empire was increasingly at bay against other colonial powers and moves towards independence." (The Times)

A great audio adaptation of the book. David Timson is a fine voice to bring out the inflections of Conan Doyle's writing.

Sublime reading by David Timson
