Summary
Nola Grayson est une jeune préceptrice en avance sur son temps. Mais, en 1910, la bonne société londonienne ne veut pas d'une enseignante aux méthodes pédagogiques jugées subversives. Ne prône-t-elle pas, entre autres, l'émancipation de la femme ?
Aussi, quand Nola se voit proposer un poste à des milliers de kilomètres de chez elle, en Australie, décide-t-elle de tenter l'aventure. Pleine d'optimisme.
Mais, une fois arrivée sur l'île continent, elle déchante. Les habitants de cette partie reculée du bush attendaient un instituteur. Quelle n'est donc pas leur surprise de voir débarquer une femme...
