Story
June 6, 1944. On the dawn of the D-Day invasion of Normandy, two snipers find themselves fighting a battle all their own. One is a backwoods hunter from the Appalachian Mountains in the American South, while the other is the dreaded German "Ghost Sniper" who earned his nickname on the Eastern Front. Locked in a deadly duel across the hedgerow country of France, the hunter matches wits and tactics against the marksman, both of them one bullet away from victory or defeat as Allied forces struggle to gain a foothold in Europe.

Within days of the D-Day landings, the 'Das Reich' 2nd SS Panzer Division marched north through France to reinforce the front-line defenders of Hitler's Fortress Europe. Veterans of the bloodiest fighting of the Russian Front, 15,000 men with their tanks and artillery, they were hounded for every mile of their march by saboteurs of the Resistance and agents of the Allied Special Forces. Along their route they took reprisals so savage they will live forever in the chronicles of the most appalling atrocities of war.

Story
As Syria imploded in civil war in 2011, Kurdish volunteers in the north rose up to free their homeland from centuries of repression and create a progressive sanctuary of tolerance and democracy. To the medievalists of ISIS, this was an affront, so they amassed 10,000 men, heavy artillery, tanks, mortars and ranks of suicide bombers to crush the uprising. Against them stood 2,500 volunteer fighters armed with 40-year-old rifles. There was only one way for the Kurds to survive. They would have to kill the invaders one by one.

Story
Written by a retired British soldier, Trouble at Zero Hour is a breathless and vivid story, dramatising three of the key Allied operations that turned the tide of the Second World War. 6 June, 1944, somewhere over the Normandy coastline: Robbie Stokes sits in a glider, his Bren resting on the floor between his outstretched legs. The nose lowers and the glider descends rapidly: 10 minutes of stomach-churning twists and turns until suddenly the call goes up to 'brace'. The belly makes contact with the ground and the first Allied troops tumble out into occupied Europe.

Story
Tank Driver is the story of a young man’s combat initiation in World War II. Based on letters home, the sparse narrative has the immediacy of on-the-spot reporting. Ted Hartman was a teenager when he was sent overseas to drive a Sherman tank into combat to face the desperate German counterattack known as the Battle of the Bulge. Hartman gives a riveting account of the shifting tides of battle and the final Allied breakout. He tells about the concentration camps, the spectacle of defeated Germans, and the encounter with Russian soldiers in Austria that marked combat’s end.

Blood on the snow.
Just before Christmas, 1944; two snipers from opposite sides, both the best of their nations in what they do. Cole is moving towards the German border with the small group of snipers the U.S. army had established to protect them from similar activity by the opposition. Von Stringer had been seconded to a Panzer division, tasked by Hitler himself with retaking the area, driving back the invasion. Known as the Ghost, for his near invisibility, he and Cole had encountered each other before in France after the Normandy landings. Their cat and mouse chess game, which should have ended then with the death of one of them, can now begin again.
Following on from the superb Ghost Sniper, the ongoing Second World War action continues to be viewed through the eyes of both protagonists. Whilst the tensions of the 'duel' are not as extreme in this book, David Healey again paints a ferocious picture of the mindless horror of war basing the story around actual historic events. What is, again, the major achievement of the book, however, is the empathy elicited for both snipers so that this reader was routing for both to survive. But one of them has to die.
As in Ghost Sniper, narrator J.Scott Bennett gives an admirable performance, narrating with perfect clarity and understanding. His reading, is calm, never overemotional, which might have distracted from the text, and his voice, soft and warm and gently accented, is perfectly united to the writing. Each protagonist is also given a distinctive and appropriate voicing. The whole is a symbiotic blending with the story.
This is an excellent book, well written and narrated, thrilling, thought provoking and with images of the war field unlikely to be forgotten. The characterisations, first established in Ghost, continue to make the characters real, three dimensional living people placed in the impossible actions of war. Recommended for everyone, especially those who still believe in the virtues of warfare.

Sniper warfare at its best
Fictionalized escapades of a sniper squad in WW2. The author delivers you right into the trenches, trees, rubble that is the territory of the sniper. It is reminiscent of the famous duel between Russian and German snipers in Stalingrad that was fictionalized in war of the rays and the movie enemy’s the gates. This is the 2nd installment and was absolutely amazing. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Trilling WWII sniper story
This is an thrilling story of WWII snipers during the fighting in the Ardennes. Cole is the talented hillbilly sniper that we first met in the book “Ghost Snipper,” he and his small band of fellow US snipers encounter Hitler’s last ditch effort to turn the war back to his favour through a sneak invasion. Along with Panzer tanks and soulless SS soldiers, he also once again crosses paths and bullets with his German nemesis, the sniper known as the Ghost. The story is told through the eyes of the two sniper protagonists and you can not help but feel some empathy for them both as they continue their cat and mouse game of death. The narrator did a great job, giving the characters individual voices and personalities, he kept his intonation calm, mirroring the feel and mind of a sniper. The cruelty and mindless horror of war comes through clearly, as does the way the snipers distance their emotions and mind so they are able to kill over and over again. It is a enthralling, well written and narrated story that is scattered with historical facts, has great characters and leaves images in your mind that you will not soon forget.

A terrific second book in the Battle of Precision
My Grandfather was a Canadian sniper in the second world war. Listening to this series, brought me great insight into the life of a sniper during the war.
Scott Bennett is a talented narrator, who is able to do German and Russian accents among various others. His narration brings this story to life and the fear and emotions that the characters feel, the reader can feel as well.
I listened to this story in chunks in the car, as the story is war and the death and destruction is heavy and emotional for the reader.
The author assembled quite the amazing cast of characters especially the American side. The German sniper was a force to be extinguished but he was called the Ghost Sniper for a reason.
Excellent suspense, some historical truths, a touch of romance and a captivating narration make this book and the series a hit for this reader.

Really love this
This story is a delightful story filled with danger, thrills, excitement, a touch of romance, humor that makes you laugh out loud, sorrow, pain, anger, you name it you will find it between these lines. I found things to do so I could listen to more at a time. I was so pulled in that I found I had trouble putting it down. Between the author and narrator I had no trouble picking the story unfold in my mind, it was almost like I was there.
The narrator did a wonderful job of narration he put feeling into the audio. His voice is very powerful, clear and pleasant to listen to. There are no background noises or any volume changes His tones are very even he never leaves you guessing how the character feels. He gives you a very clear rich audio that you do not want to put down. The male voices are as pleasant as his female voices. You never have any trouble knowing who is talking or just what is on their mind. He uses the correct tones with each character just as I pictured them to be. He chuckles when he needs to or shows sorrow through his voice. He really brought this story to life for me, I had no trouble watching in my mind as his voice smoothed over me making this almost like a movie. He made me feel what each character was going through, at time I held my breath waiting to see what was going to happen next. The narrator has a knack to reach into you mind, pulling on your heartstrings and gibing you a highly entertaining listen. I really enjoyed his voice and could listen to it all day with no problem. Mr. Bennett has become one of my favorite narrators I know when I see his name I am going to be taken away and truly enjoy the listen.
The author gives you a believable story that is highly entertaining as well as pull on your heartstrings, he makes you laugh, want to cry and even sigh, I really enjoyed watching these snipers play at their game of chest, holding my breath to see which one would die and who would live. It was very emotional, and sad but the men feel real joking with each other but getting right back to business. I can’t tell you how well this author and narrator blend so well together, and how much I enjoyed this story. I am off to start the next one in the series.

Great action adventure
I think my favorite part of this book is that nobody is perfect...even the heroes have a terrible dark side to them. And even when you know exactly what terrible things they are planning, you still have to sit back a puzzle out what type of person actually thinks that way? Plus, I never thought about what soldiers think of snipers on their own side. They loathe enemy snipers but seem to have very mixed emotions about "good" snipers.
I hope to read the rest of the stories in this series...for now I have just read the two specifically related to the Ghost Sniper, and the whole sniper vs sniper theme is intriguing.
The Narrator does a great job with all the characters, and seems to have a reasonable German accent without being too over-the-top with it.
