About this listen

Fifteen-year-old Crystal O'Mally never thought her detective career would take off with a bang, literally. No sooner does she wish to solve a case NOT connected to diamonds, a local rancher approaches her with a baffling case. A saboteur has been stalking him for over five years, intent on blowing the family ranch to smithereens. Horses are stolen, cows stampeded, and workers injured. No matter where the rancher moves or what he does, the saboteur always manages to wreak havoc.

Crystal's a little more cautious to take this case and for good reason. There are more clues than she can shake a stick at, the suspect list is longer than she is tall, and the man who hired her is acting...well...odd. One minute he wants her to solve the mystery. The next he's pushing her away and acting mysterious. Why? What is he hiding? And how does the vanishing woman fit into all this?

With Emma once again tagging along and the sisters nearly getting blown up in the process, the two hurry to get to the bottom of it before it becomes the last case they ever solve.

This is another great little mystery from Leah Pugh, Crystal and Emerald get involved trying to discover who is trying to ruin a local rancher. Well written and well paced, a very entertaining story. Lauren Pedersen's narration is spot on once again, a recommended listen.
