Summary

The guild is under attack, and Van is right in the middle of it all.

When Master Yewlo is abducted by unknown forces, the Peacemakers are thrown into chaos as the rescue mission begins. Finding Yewlo will be hard, but the search reveals secrets the guild might not survive - secrets about a system so corrupt, it will take Van and his team’s best efforts to untangle the truth.

And they might not like what they find.

On the grimy station known as Halcyon, Van will track and confront thieves who deal in stolen lives, all in order to save a Master who might not have the guild’s best interest at heart. With Sorcerers and Cloaks and every other kind of criminal, Van, Torina, Perry and Icky learn that friends come in all shapes and sizes - and so do enemies.

From the depths of space to Iowa, join Van as he fights to save his guild, free stolen lives, and discover that money makes the universe go around - money and lies, that is.

And Van will find the truth, no matter what the cost.

Nice little action series

Ok first things first. I like Jeffrey Kafer’s narration style it fits my perception of the charters (especially Perry). The stories do build on each other so I would advise reading/listening to the first 2 before this one. Plenty of action a few little twist worth the time.

Great listening

The author uses great names taken from other SciFi works, I’d like to find a spaceship in my backyard. Nice way to spend time with a great narrator.

Quick review

I have now listened to 3 of these books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Looking forward to number 4. Jeffrey Kafer does a excellent job at narrating, but there are so many characters I get a little lost on whose who. Still great books and highly recommend them.

On the Anvil.

Excellent. On all counts. Do you love a sci-fi adventure zoomed in on the main characters as they galavant around the universe doing awesome things? Finding unique answers to impossible situations? Well this is the one!! All three books have an individual character as our hero’s grow into themselves and each is engaging and advancing an overall story. All wrapped in a generally good if not camp sense of humor.

Authors forgot book 1 storyline!

The “Party Princess” who welcomed van and tirina into her family was not truly a party girl. It was explained in the first book they she was in a prearranged marriage. She loved her husband but her family only married her off to get access to profitable business deals. When her husband died she was heartbroken and gave up her claim on her husbands business interests. THIS is why her family killed and chipped her. Not because she was a Teen Partier. That was the rumor her family drummed up so they could do their evil deed! So why did the authors do this plot flip. Now a book I was enjoying is just ticking me off.

worth it.

if you liked the last two books then you'll love this third book. not to spoil anything but it's really cool to watch rhe characters get better over time amd the craziness just keeps 1up-ing itself. the humor is effortless and clever. 10/10
