ONE OF THE BEST TODAY, OR ANY DAY.
Anthony Riches is one of a handful of authors of Ancient RTimex Expedition E-Compass ome that is group of simply the best. Can't wait for when the next volume come out. Just great fun. You feel as if you are there, the characters are old friends who go to war and you hope they all come back but like the current batch of these great writers know that soldiers do die in war. Anthony is a master at this, you feel the loss and can mourn with his comrades when they go down in battle,(which by the way makes you feel like you are there fighting with the legions!) you can feel their pain but like the legionnaires you know you must go on if for no other reason than to just survive. Love it, he transports you back in time to another world and you realize it is so different from ours but still so much like ours! You can get the real feeling that not only are you fighting for the 'glory' of what was and is Rome but for the guys on either side of you, each a clog in a complicated and fearfully awesome fighting machine that ruled the known world for over 1000 years. Keep up the good work! And thanks for the adventures, which like a great novel, does as it should, is a temporary diversion... he takes us away from the everyday modern grind, boredom and problems at least for the time being while we travel in time to the Ancient Roman world you have created. It is wonderful! Thank you!
