Logan

Nicholas Theodoropoulos had been my stepbrother since I was fourteen. Mom died when I was twelve, and I resented Dad remarrying so soon. Even worse, my stepbrother had grown into a gorgeous man. I had an amazing girlfriend, was the star tennis player on the varsity team, and was a recent graduate. Soon, I’d be attending Stanford with an athletic scholarship and my favorite girl by my side. Life was good. But as fate would have it, I found myself suddenly single and forced to travel across the country with the one person who hated my guts. Nothing good would come out of this.It was 1987 as two young men and stepbrothers were forced to navigate resentments and growing feelings while on a three-week road trip from Virginia to California. Will their journey finally take them to where they belong?

This is a phenomenal book! I’d put it off for ages due to it being set in the 80’s, I never thought it would appeal to me. I couldn’t have been more wrong - It’s absolutely beautiful! I devoured this is one sitting!

This is a true love story through and through and I shed more than few tears for the challenges Gay couples faced, and still sometimes face today. I truly love MM romance and it’s mainly all I read nowadays - but this really is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve read.

The spice is also really incredible, it’s so intimate and real. And I do love a possessive-in-bed MMC so that was a really nice surprise that I wasn’t expecting!

If you’re unsure or just considering this book just go for it! I’ve now ordered the physical copy for my bookcase, this will be a well read and cherished book for many years!!

I'm always apprehensive about reading books set in high school/early college settings. But this book was absolutely perfect. It was set in 1987 and the 80's vibes are so strong. It was a perfect flashback to my high school years! Courtney conveyed the sayings and nuances of the 80s amazingly. Loved Nick & Logan so much. They set off on a cross country road trip and have the time of their lives! This book is a must read! Harley Chase did an amazing job narrating both Logan & Nick. He's a new to me narrator and I'm looking forward to hearing more from him in the future.

This was an amazing audio!!! Nick and Logan story was so heartwarming and just perfect!! This is a stepbrothers with a lot of pining. Logan’s love for Nick was impossible until they embarked to a road trip were Logan share his feelings and Nick was intrigued by his also interest for Logan. A road trip that is going to chance the life’s of these two, a fantastic adventure full of auto-discovery and exploration and find the love of your life. Harley Chase did an excellent job narrating this audio!!! I could listen to him all day, I love how both Logan and Nick sound!! Love it!!

I read this first but couldn’t pass up the chance to experience it as an audiobook. And it was just as good the second time.

It was my first by Narrator Harley Chase - and I was impressed. He’s got an incredible voice, and really captured the characters and the story.

My Original review:
Be still my 80’s reminiscent heart. It really was a different time, coming of age without technology. Add in being gay during the AIDS pandemic and decades before same-sex marriage will even be considered, and your heart will melt for Logan, hiding his sexuality, losing his mother, and acquiring a step-brother who he’s attracted to. And now his dream of road-tripping across the country with his best friend is falling apart.

But you’ll feel for Nick too. He is completely oblivious to why his new brother can’t stand him, wondering why his father left him, and his girlfriend too, who has broken his heart. It’s not all sunshine and roses for him either.

Three weeks trapped together in a car is probably a terrible idea.

Instead, we get a tender romance of self-discovery, understanding and love. It’s not always an easy road, but it is touching and set against a beautiful backdrop of travelling through multiple states.

Loved reading this so when the audiobook released listening to it was a no brainer.
Nick and Logan are brought to life and seemed more real and I found it more enjoyable than reading it .
So many things in this book reminded me of the 80’s I was in my early 20’s then and so much of Nick & Logan’s music choices brought back so many good memories.
It also made me think back to when I first heard about aids and the terror that went through most of my gay friends.
