Summary

I'm Matt Hadder. I've been called ruthless, savage - even brutal - by the men and women who work for me. And I've earned my reputation. Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I'm its Wizard. I can make anything - drugs, prostitutes, deals - appear for a night and disappear just as quickly. This doesn't make me good or bad - it makes me essential.

Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in and turned both of our worlds upside down. Welcome to Wonderland, Alex. A place where everything appears normal. But we're all mad.

Down the rabbit hole and back again...

Max Monroe blew my freaking mind with this book. The dynamic duo never cease to amaze me with their witty literary brilliance.

fairy tale with a twist

Max Monroe has another hit. Alex and Matt will keep you on the edge of your seat, jeep you guessing, and melt your panties. Joe Arden has a voice that makes you puddle and Maxine Mitchell makes you become the character.

original

A very original story line...at least it was for me. But it was very good and the narration was great and made the characters seem so real!

Wonderful new take of an old tale

I have always liked when an old tale gets a modernized remake. Alex in Wonderland is a darker and very naughty update of Alice in Wonderland. It's my first read by Max Monroe and it really worked for me. Alex is a down and out former bartender on a stint as a bunny at a kid’s birthday party. She finds herself being courted by Wonderland boss Matt Hadder after he notices she has skills, though finding her in her skivvies didn’t hurt. Alex is smart and sexy and after she decides to go down the rabbit hole of Wonderland, is a quick learner and a strong h. She is loyal to Hadder and will do whatever it takes to protect him and Wonderland. Matt Hadder is a ruthless and brutal H. He doesn’t take crap from anyone, that is until he meets Alex- she is the only one he lets question, interrupt, or talk back to him though not without punishment and the punishment is off the charts 🔥🔥🔥. I really liked this story. I finished in a day and just kept going back for more. The narration by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell is well done. Joe Arden is one of my favorite narrator’s and listening to him portray Matt Hadder’s take no BS brutality is so hot.❤🔥🔥🔥

Favorite So Far

Oh my! Every Max Monroe book I’ve listened to/read so far and been awesome, but this?! This is my hands-down favorite!! Seriously. Favorite! Favorite! Favorite! I loved dissecting the characters afterward and figuring out what character they were from “Alice in Wonderland”. So inventive. And then when I was able to figure out who was who, I mentally rolled my eyes at myself for not picking up on it earlier! 😂 I don’t know if the author or anyone from her team ever the reviews, but if so, I want you to know a few things: 1) Matt Hatter is the epitome of the sexy, alpha book boyfriend. I mean - dayummm! 2) Alex’s innocence was written beautifully. It wasn’t cheesy - it fit beautifully into the book and was a perfect counterpoint for Matt’s character. 3) Cal is a ROCKSTAR! 4) Eric was such a bad guy. Every time he was mentioned, the sense of foreboding came along for the ride. 5) This was a truly inventive retelling of a classic fairy tale 6) I seriously, seriously, seriously loved.it 7) I want a sequel! I don’t even know how it would be possible, but I sure would love it!

Ugh. Stupid characters. DNF!

I loved other Max Monroe books but this one was a huge disappointment. I can’t stand books that showcase stupidity. The book starts out defining the two main characters as smart and streetwise. But the majority of the book proves them both as complete morons. Matt is so ruthless that he lets the people that are betraying him go free with no punishment? He claims she is his whole reason for living yet he leaves her knowing there were people that wanted to betray him? He claimed he was one step ahead yet allows them to kidnap her? And then he’s surprised?? The whole book was like this. I got more and more aggravated with the decisions these two idiots were making. I didn’t finish.

Interesting story

I liked the story. It kept you wondering what was going to happen next. It also made you wonder how the relationship between the two main characters would progress. Would she turn against him or join him.
