Summary

Alex Horne and his special guests bring together stand-up and live music in a free-wheeling and spontaneous combination.

Each episode sees Alex, his band and guests explore a different topic. These range from love to technology, the seasons to the body.

In this collection of the complete series 1-3 Alex is joined by comedians including David O’Doherty, Isy Suttie, Kevin Eldon, Phill Jupitus, Matt Lucas, Doc Brown, Sara Pascoe, James Acaster, Marcus Brigstocke and Adam Buxton.

They are also joined by Al Murray and Tim Key in their Edinburgh Special from 2012, and the band kick off celebrations in style with a New Year Special.

Come join Alex and his band Joe Auckland (trumpet and banjo), Mark Brown (sax and clarinet), Will Collier (double bass and guitar), Ben Reynolds (drums and percussion) and Joe Stilgoe and Ed Sheldrake (piano and keyboard) for some much-needed joy and jollity.

Brilliant from start to finish...

If you like music and comedy you will love this anarchic blend of brilliant musicianship and nonsense. Sheer genius!

Refreshing and reassuring!

Upbeat, light hearted and delightfully British; exploring the best multicultural talent out great Isle has to offer. Highlights include: Doc Brown and his lyrical narrative power, a phenomenal performance singing about Xmas Jumpers, James Acaster and mariachi madness, a celebration of all things Attenborough and so much more. oh and Henry Hover. Genius.

full of fun

I first listened to these when they were on BBC iPlayer..and was a bit gutted when they were no longer available. therefore, I was chuffed to see they've been recently released on audible. If you like the podcasts, this is more of the same, but with am audience..great guests, to be of fun, and each episode sounds like a party😁

Fun, some music education and lots of laughs.

Alex Horne as emcee is bright, full of twists and unexpected fancies. The musicians are superb and the guests always feel like part of the team. I also learned things about music and UK culture. In short, it's a cross-genre bonanza that I will play again and again over the years.
