Repackaged version of 2010 dramatisations

I was a bit disappointed in finding out that this is just a repackaged version of the BBC dramatisations that came out in 2010 . Some of them are good but some of them are just fair . Perhaps it is because I just didn't like some of the stories . The only good thing about this audio is that you get all 12 stories at once instead of having to purchase them separately on this same site .

Twelve Radio Mysteries

I don't often like updates of Agatha Christie's work, I prefer them set in their original decades. However this volume has been updated with care and is still a joy to listen to

Terrible way to treat Agatha Christie’s work

Agatha Christie created such great stories, I don’t know why they had to ‘update’ them in such a crude, ham fisted manner. They kept the general style of talking but just stuffed a few ‘current’ references in e.g. George Bush and the war in Afghanistan. It doesn’t work at all and wasn’t clear before purchasing the audio book that the stories had been spoiled in this way. They have also ramped up the misery in the sad bits so instead of feeling that you have enjoyed the adventure you are left feeling rather gloomy, especially if you listen to a few at a time.

dull collection of stories

I was expecting a lot more of the classic Christie experience instead a collection of very short melodramatic stories that didn't really go anywhere.

Don't bother

Not very good at all, but modern day, and stories to short and mixed up at times so not very clear story line. I

a lot of care was taken.in terms of updating the stories the cases were a little simple and short some were clever than others but all performed well. lots of characters to like

Poor fare.

Now I know why I was unfamiliar with these stories: they’re really poor. Cliched, and silly.

Too Little Provided

I love myself some Agatha Christie Mysteries. I try, but I haven't won a case yet! This production didn't do her justice. It didn't include enough of the mystery to make it enjoyable. It skipped too much. Just didn't help connect the dots. More frustrating than enjoyable.

Campy

Short stories alone were disappointing but the effort to recreate in a modern time was contradictions of all things Agatha Christie.

Butchered AC classics

Entertaining performances but the experience was marred by the absolute butchering of AC's classic stories. Some adaptation or changes is ok but these were bent and twisted to be 'modern' and somewhat 'fashionable' to a crude degree.

Some performances overdone and lots of erratic screaming that really wasn't necessary.

Great if you are not familiar with AC's work. Steer clear of you are.

Murder of Agatha's style

They changed so much it's not worth it. I have listened to very many of her books but it's by far the worst.

New Stories. Well Performed.

I had only heard one of the stories before. They varied from drama to comedy to supernatural. Most were not murder mysteries but I enjoyed them all.

BBC has another wonderful production

Agatha Christie with mostly modern adaptations--absolutely brilliant! You will love these short stories. The voice actors truly bring her magnificent writing to life member

Not what I was expecting

The acting and narration were great. The stories simply weren't interesting. Each mystery lasted about a half hour, and was populated by 2 to 4 characters - making the plot easy to decipher. In addition to this, plots were updated for modern consumption (cell phones and internet). I was not impressed.

NOT Agatha Christie!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!

I have read every book and short story Christie has done. I was excited to hear a Radio Broadcast of her shorts from the BBC. This is NOT that!!! These are altered stories!!!! God knows why!!! Not the real stories that she WROTE! LOL She is the 2nd top publisher and read author in the world even today with the Bible being the 1st. Yet these idiots think that they can Improve on HER writing????? I think NOT!
Stories written in the 1930's keep some elements of the 30's with lines of text then go into talking about cell phone use! lol A total JOKE! Anyone listening to this Nonsense would think this is the real Christie! It is NOT. I want to know where is the grandchild to protect her writing? I guess the only thing that matters to them is the almighty dollar! The same thing has been happening in the last year with New versions of her movies totally changed and altered. Sickening.
You can NOT improve on, one of the greatest writers in history! So stop trying to change her work! Do NOT Buy this. It is JUNK! I will be returning this piece of libel !!!
If I could give 0 stars I would!!!!
