About this listen

This omnibus edition contains Survival (book 1) and Humanity (book 2) of the After It Happened series.

Survival, book 1:

Set in the UK in the immediate aftermath of a mysterious illness which swept the country and left millions dead, the series follows the trials facing a reluctant hero, Dan, and the group he forms around him. They must battle the elements, find sufficient supplies and equipment to survive, and protect themselves against the most destructive force on the planet: other people.

Banding together those he found along the way, he has to fight to keep them safe.

To keep them alive. To survive.

Humanity, book 2:

The survivors have established a home, but they still have to face the brutality of human nature.

Not only do they have to survive, they must keep their humanity.

Loved it

Bit weird at first considering it's set in England but you have RC Bray narrating it. Odd choice as while RC Bray is my favourite narrator it just sounds weird when he tries to do an English accent, he just reminds me of Skippy from Expeditionary Force! Once you get past that though I found these two books very enjoyable and currently listening to books 3 and 4!

Wasn't sure about this at first...

I've read a lot of book about the apocalypse of the world but this one really tells a story that I believe is more close to what would be likely to happen without over the top events, heroes and exaggeration. love it

great book

If your expecting zombies then then you won’t find any here. This a story about human survival if the real think ever happens. Throughly enjoyed this and have just downloaded the next two books. R.C Bray is a legend. I have now listened to a few of the book he narrates and he brings the whole things to life. My journeys to work will never be the same. Thank you.

Not your average story

Not a bad read like how the story flows and the different characters. Definitely a book I would find difficult to put down, finished book 1 and 2 really enjoyed this and would recommend 👍

Took me awhile to get used to The wonderful Mr R C Brays accents in this, as I am a big fan, but that happened quite quickly and thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story is written very well, loved the different characters. Great book, great narrator what more could you ask for.

Great book and great narration!

I liked this one, but there are some faults with it:
- Although I really really love R.C. Bray, I don't think he was the perfect choice for this one, not his fault, but he is American, and this is a British author. I am not an English speaking native but even to me it sounds odd an American saying that someone "felt poorly"....
- The progression of the story itself is way too fast initially. Less than a week after everybody else died, they are already starting a community. No grief for their family members, no disorientation, no nothing, just purpose;
That being said, the character depth is very good and the story is very entertaining.
I'm off to book 3.

I love a good post-apocalipse novel!

This is end of the world 'lord of the flies' meets rambo. a good yarn about a post virus britain where small groups of survivors organise themselves into different groups and fight and each other for resources and territory. Entertaining, brilliantly narrated and a thoroughly enjoyable listen!

Great yarn

I'm a sucker for the post apocalyptic, this is up there with the best of them such as Stephen Kings the Stand, the British setting is fresh and more immersive than usual as I'm British myself.

Fantastic, enjoyed from to finish.
