Summary

How well can you ever really know someone? As Ben Casper watches his best friend plummet from her sixth-floor apartment balcony, he realises his life is about to change. Diana had no reason to kill herself, she had to have been pushed. Diana worked for the CIA, so the investigation into her death is kept tightly under wraps. But Ben is a political journalist, and can feel that something isn’t right.

Ben starts investigating for himself and soon discovers Diana was leading a double life he knew nothing about. But when more people involved die in questionable circumstances, it’s clear that someone doesn’t want the truth to be uncovered. And unless Ben drops his investigation, he could be next…

Worst James Patterson I've listened to

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Better storyline, removing the frequent movie references, faster pace

Has Mistress put you off other books in this genre?

No-JP's Alex Cross series is outstanding and I also love the Michael Bennett books. This was a real let down. Been listening to it for ages as kept turning it off. Glad it's finished now!

Would you be willing to try another one of Kevin T. Collins’s performances?

Yes-not him-a dreadful story

What character would you cut from Mistress?

All

Spoilt by story teller

I have read all of James Paterson's books, . I have had this downloaded as an Audio book and to read . I did not like the narrator and could not get into this. I am hopeful I will be able to read the book itself to the end.

Riveting!

Wow! There was so much happening that there was no chance to catch your breath! Kevin T Collins was an excellent narrator, he really brought the book to life. What was really impressive was the sound effects, it all added to the drama and tension throughout the book! Definite 5 stars!!!!

Gripping from the start.

Once again James Patterson has provided an amazing story with his trademark twists and turns. With fast paced action and believable characters that keep you wanting more. The narrator did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and is undoubtedly my new favourite there isn't't a single sense of robotic style narrating. I look forward to hearing more of his work and hopefully narrating more of James Patterson novels.

Too much babbling

It starts getting annoying after a while with all that babbling.

Good plot twist though.
