Summary

Entertaining, crazy, and hilarious stories from Scott Ian of Anthrax

Scott Ian, famous for cofounding legendary thrash metal band Anthrax and only slightly less so for his iconic beard, has done and seen a lot in his decades of touring. Those of you who have heard Scott's memoir I'm the Man may know the history of the band, but Access All Areas divulges all the zany, bizarre, funny, and captivating tales of what went on when the band wasn't busy crafting chart-topping albums.

In his more than 30 years immersed in the hard rock scene, Scott has witnessed haunting acts of depravity backstage, punched a legendary musician, been a bouncer at an exclusive night club, guest-starred with Anthrax on Married with Children, invaded a fellow rock star's home, played poker professionally, gone on a non-date with a certain material girl, appeared on The Walking Dead, and much more.

Access All Areas allows its listeners to do just that. With humor, candor, hindsight, and writing chops that would make Stephen King jealous (nope, not even on Bizarro world), Scott Ian takes his fans along for the ride at all the parties, hot spots, and behind-the-scenes shenanigans they will never hear about from anyone else. And none of it would have happened without a bit of divine inspiration from KISS. (No, seriously. Listen to chapter two.) Best of all, Scott seemingly lacks the ability to be embarrassed, making Access All Areas howlingly funny, self-deprecating, and every bit as brash and brazen as one would expect from one of the original architects of speed metal.

Very entertaining, Scott's a genuine story teller

Really enjoyed this, all but the poker stories, he went over the top with the poker. But otherwise, cool stories.
Towards the end I was blown away by the Dimebag story, hilarious and very touching. So sad that he's not with us anymore.
Scott's an awesome story teller and can really deliver like a pro.

Funny and great stories

A very funny collection of stories by Scott Ian.
Not as informative as I'm the man but still wickedly funny as told by the man himself

a great book ,but

I'd have given this the full five stars, but it's not quite up there with I am the man, read in Scott's usual full throttle New York patter it's still a great read, but without the chronological progression of his first book it sometimes left me frantically trying to place the events in time. But hey maybe that's just me.

Chapter 20 is worth the price of admission!

Not as brilliant as ' I am the Man ' but wait till you get to chapter 20 and the story about Dimebag Darrell. It's one of the best stories you will ever hear...hands down! I had tears of laughter!! I would strongly recommend this book just on that chapter alone. Enjoy :-)

Another Stunning Book Of Tales from Scott Ian

Brilliant!!
Another collection of tales from the master of Metal !!
Worth the purchase price alone for the Dime Bag Darrell story !!
If you enjoyed “I’m the Man” then you’ll enjoy thus too
Mibbe a bit technical on the Poker Stories, but other than that a thoroughly enjoyable listen !
And .... it’s narrated by Scott, so it’s a million times better to here him tell his stories than some voice actor !!

Please write another one Scott !!

Not another “I’m the Man”

I truly enjoyed I’m the man. Laughing out loud several times. This is not part two. I ran through that book in two days, it’s taken me about two months to get through this one. The Dimebag story was good, as well as the Lemmy episode. I’m not a poker player, and it doesn’t interest me so half of this book was a waste of time. I consider this his “solo” album, you know the one you can take or leave, probably best to leave it.

Scott Ian is a guy I'd like to drink a beer with.

Scott does a good job telling stories. Just a regular dude living a metal life.

some entertaining, a lot not

I’m a big Anthrax fan and have been since the 80’s. i hate to say it because of how much i like scott and the music but i didn’t enjoy a lot of this book. i felt like there was too much time spent on things like poker (an entire, long chapter), on his love of kiss (pretty much the same)...there were some cool stories thrown in but a lot that i was just sort of waiting to get through and i thought his writing style...i felt like he was trying a little too hard to sound like a writer at times. i listened to the rob halford book right before this one and i’m listening to ozzie’s now and love both of those but this one i hate to say i was actually happy to finish so i could move onto something else.

Beyond Entertaining

my first ever review of an audio book. remain seated. Let me just say, that these stories really gave me greater insight into the hilarity of the rock and roll world. Scott's vocals to this book are completely necessary. its like sitting on uncle Scott's knee, listening to the tales of life and the road. I felt this to be personally read to me by Mr. Ian. The voices and storyline told ina matter of fact tone that was easy to listen intently and absorb as much as my addled brain can absorb. Being close in age, it brought me back to the seventies, eighties and recent history and were I was at as a die hard metal head. I was transported rather easily to each story and really felt as if I were just hanging out with my bro scott ian for the entirety of the story. If you are a fan of Anthrax or music in general, pick this up. Just a fun read. Sébastien Bach mother****er! Enjoy

Scott is the MAN!!

I really enjoyed this book, plus Scott’s other book “I’m the Man:The Story of That Guy From Anthrax.” I loved both books. Scott has some really great stories & I learned a lot that I didn’t know he did. I’m still laughing about the story of Dimebag & “Sebastian Bach”! I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Scott Needs His Own Style of Speaking

Scitt, I realize that you have probably only mostly have listened to Rollins spoken word albums and videos. Please, please, please find your own voice. I know it's in you.

Entertertaing, amusing, worth a credit.

"Sebastian Bach, Motherf**ker!"
