About this listen

The most remarkable true stories of all time and around the world brought vividly to life - from the Big Bang right up to the present day.

Embark on a journey across millennia and around the world, from the latest understanding of the origins of the universe, the birth of the Earth, the very first life, the age of dinosaurs, the rise of humans, ancient civilisations, colonialism, wars, technology, everyday life, global struggles for freedom and equality, pandemics - and much more. Christopher Lloyd's engaging narrative of the most remarkable true stories of all time is brought vividly to life by voice artist James Macnaughton.

The second edition is revised for fuller global coverage and updated with the latest research, as well as with events that have occurred since the first edition. A new foreword is narrated by the author.

This book really does have Absolutely Everything, or at least almost! My kids loved this (9 & 12 yrs - different parts, of course, but there's something for everyone), and I actually learned or was reminded of so much I'd forgotten! It's written in a way that's almost conversational and it kept us hooked with a lot of fascinating facts, but without getting tedious. The narrator's voice is lovely and warm too.

Incredible book for kids and grown-ups!

This has been with us on many a car journey. Channel tunnel, sorted, drive through rural France, sorted, hectic school run, sorted. Great book. PLEASE UPDATE TO GIVE THE ACTUAL CHAPTER NAMES! Sometimes we just want to revisit a certain subject, and just numbering the chapters makes it impossible.

Such a good book but PLEASE UPDATE WITH THE CHAPTER NAMES
