Story
Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

Story
Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way. He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not.

Is a nice little wedding with Blow-up Randy and Jackson My Love too much to ask for? Clearly, because someone’s trying to kill one of us...again. Generally, this would be my thing and I would jump right in singing my murder song, but they want Jackson dead and I will do anything (and I mean anything) to keep him alive - including and not limited to: 10 Dobermans, bulletproof glass, and dragging Cassel in with the promise of more Jerebear.

Story
Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

A psychic without an anchor. A student in trouble. A shooter on the loose. I’m Jonathan Bane, a licensed psychic who consults for the police. I routinely help the police put the bad guys away and, for that reason, the criminal world doesn’t like me much. My psychic ability prevents me from handling anything electronic - and I do mean anything, I fry it in seconds - so calling for help isn’t always a possibility. I need an anchor, a partner, but I’m resigned: It’s just wishful thinking. At least, I thought so until he walked through the door.

Summary
Despite growing up in a family of villains, I’d rather curl up and read than commit crimes. When I get coerced by my brother into helping him rob a bank, I run into August, my childhood crush, also known as Chrono, the city’s greatest superhero. He’s sexy, sweet, and suddenly, he’s asking me to Thanksgiving with his parents.
It’s probably because he doesn’t realize that I’m Leviathan, a villain with the power of telekinesis. And I can’t tell him because he’d never forgive me and would stop doing things like cooking for me - wait, maybe that would be a good thing, since he’s a terrible cook. It doesn’t help that my parents think they’re the ultimate villains and won’t stop getting in my way, although they can’t even steal toilet paper without getting caught.
But when real supervillains (not the wannabe kind that I grew up with) start targeting August, I might be forced to show everyone who I truly am: a slightly warped and snarky man who’d really rather read a book than save anything...besides August.
I’ll tear this world apart just to get another glimpse of him in those glasses and spandex suit. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him safe, even though it means exposing my true identity. Luckily, August still cares about me, proving that even a villain and a hero can fall in love. Hopefully, we’ll be able to save the world in time for Christmas.
This ridiculous and snarky holiday novel contains a villain-turned-unlikely hero (even if he’s a manager's worst nightmare), a superhero with a fondness for suckers who absolutely does not use his powers to cheat on board games, a hairless cat with an unfortunate name, bumbling family members that try to be evil, but are mostly just embarrassing, a snow globe with mysterious powers, betrayal, true love, a risqué Santa suit, and the saltiest chicken ever.

All comedy, no depth
I love Alice Winters books because she’s got an amazing ability to write great characters, fun situations and witty funny dialogue, but still manage to maintain depth. However, this one was a little shallow and flippant. I think the narrator added to the shallow feel. He was awesome narrating TJ Klune’s Tales From Verania series which is comical, but in this story it made it all seemed a bit farcical. Still an ok story, but I’ll stick with Alice Winters’ other books.

It's review time 🎧
A villain for Christmas
By Alice Winters
Narrator Michael Lesley
“P*nis!”
“Super Awesome Villains Combined for the Greater Evil of Mankind.”
Narrator score🎧 ; Michael leslie the one and only!!! The voices the little giggles, the sound effects. All was just incredible!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even! I loved every single second of the sass and in the little parts that were sad he knew how to bring the sadness into this comedy like no one else. especially the deep voice he gave the mother lol.
“Hello?” I answer as sexily as I possibly can, keeping my voice low and seductive.
“Oh, I’m sorry, were you asleep?” August asks. I sigh.
Level of steam🔥: the magic about Alice winters is that she doesn't need a lot of steam in her books. They do have some small moments, but the innuendos are 10000 times better! I just love the way she can bring S* alive without actually writing it.
“It’s Moistman,” I announce. “He’ll get you wet with just a look.”
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: it's a lovely and incredibly perfectly written comedy. But even here we have some emotional moments and she knows how to break our hearts a tiny bit.
“This is your cat?”
“Yes.”
“What’s her name?”
“Balzac,” I say proudly. “You… named your cat… Ball S*c?”
“No. Balzac.”
The book itself📖: what can I even say? This book is another masterpiece of a great story teller. I can tell you that I want it as a movie because of all the reasons! It was an incredible story. We have that powerful villain that doesn't wants to be one and he's in love with an hero.
The author created a world with an amazingly easy banter. I can't even explain how she did it. But the fact is that she did. We have that group named Pi**s and that cat named Ballzac in a very complex world but the MC takes everything in such a light manner that you can't even get how terrible things are. I think this author is a magician of sorts. I loved every single character it was a brilliant story.
"I slow down and strut out to the car like I think I’m hot shit, as he gets out of the car and comes to my side. Clearly, it’s sexy enough that he’s going to stop what he’s doing and pull open the door for me. “Did you hurt your foot?”y.

Adorable
I swear if Alice Winters and TJ Klune aren’t the same person, then they were twins separated by birth. I love them both. This book was highly entertaining as all of Alice’s books have been that I’ve read. I love the mix of snarkiness and action. I’m hoping more is to come! Also, Michael Lesley is always one of my favorite narrators!

Didn’t laugh once
I’m used to laughing uproariously while listening to this author’s books. I have all her audiobooks but this one didn’t work for me. It felt like a teen story until you hit the sex scenes and then I upgraded it to New Adult. Landon’s angst filled rants and poor decision making became tedious. I didn’t care for the reader’s delivery style. I love her other books but sadly this one was a miss for me

So much silliness is good for the soul
4 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames
Narrator Michael Lesley delivered a fun-filled, highly imaginative, funny as fuck performance. Let’s face it, if you want comedy narrated, then Michael Lesley is your guy. Pair him with author Alice Winters and you have the perfect recipe for silliness with an extra scoop insanity.
The plot is ingenious with a superhero who falls in love with a supervillain who doesn’t want to be a villain. They develop secret mutual crushes, which is absurd because they are supposed to be fighting each other.
Landon, the villain has the power of telekinesis, and August, the superhero, can freeze time. They get into all kinds of trouble while bantering. Their families are obviously not in favor of their relationship. So Landon wants to be normal and get rid of his power, so he can have a normal life and not be used by his wannabe villain family.
The story involves multiple characters and it’s extremely entertaining to listen to. Almost like watching television. The plot was well written with vividly well rounded secondary characters.
I do recommend this audiobook, keep an open mind, it is silly and lighthearted. Guaranteed to lift your mood and pump you full of positivity.
Happy Listening

Laugh out loud
There were so many parts of this book that had me laughing so hard I was crying. Landon is a villain who has a major crush on August who is a hero. But Landon is not your typical villain. Landon’s family is unique. And you’ll fall in love with them. And August isn’t your typical hero either. When you put them together only craziness can ensue. I’m a HUGE fan of Alice Winters. I really hope we get more of these crazy characters.

Single POV, urban fantasy, with terrific humor, plenty of action, and a fast paced plot that that kept me glued from the beginning.
