Story
Jesus Christ of Nazareth was a man who healed all who came to him with power from the Holy Spirit. There was no challenge too great for him, and all who saw him knew he was sent from God. Yet, 2,000 years later, he is not with us anymore...or is he? F.F. Bosworth beautifully explains the healing power available to us today through the same one that healed all those years ago.

When My only-begotten Son returned to Me, forty days after the resurrection, this Bridge, namely Himself, arose from the earth, that is, from among the conversation of men, and ascended into Heaven by virtue of the Divine Nature and sat at the right hand of Me, the Eternal Father, as the angels said, on the day of the Ascension, to the disciples, standing like dead men, their hearts lifted on high, and ascended into Heaven with the wisdom of My Son - 'Do not stand here any longer, for He is seated at the right hand of the Father!'

Story
How much of our Christian work has been abortive because we have persisted in initiating it for ourselves, instead of ascertaining what God was doing, and where He required our presence! We dream bright dreams of success. We try to command it. We call to our aid all kinds of expedients, questionable or otherwise. At last we turn back, disheartened and ashamed, like children who are torn and scratched by the brambles, and soiled by the quagmire. None of this had come about if only we had been, from the first, under God's unerring guidance.

Story
We starve in the midst of plenty, groan under infirmities, with the remedy in our own hand; live and die without knowing and feeling any thing of the one, only good, whilst we have it in our power to know and enjoy it in as great a reality, as we know and feel the power of this world over us: For Heaven is as near to our souls, as this world is to our bodies; and we are created, we are redeemed, to have our conversation in it. God, the only good of all intelligent natures, is not an absent or distant God, but is more present in and to our souls, than our own bodies.

Story
A classic devotional study on the Song of Solomon. One of the abiding legacies of Hudson Taylor to the church is this small volume. In simple yet profound imagery, he laid out the deep truth of the Christians' personal union with Jesus Christ. The key to understanding the Song of Solomon, he believed, was found in the New Testament in the Incarnate Word. Dividing the Song of Solomon into six sections, Dr. Taylor explained the significance and symbolism of the speaker in each section and how the mysteries of grace and love are revealed.

Story
Once on a dark night I went alone into the forest to pray, and seating myself upon a rock I laid before God my deep necessities, and besought his help. After a short time, seeing a poor man coming towards me, I thought he had come to ask me for some relief because he was hungry and cold. I said to him, "I am a poor man, and except this blanket I have nothing at all. You had better go to the village nearby and ask for help there." And lo! Even whilst I was saying this, he flashed forth like lightning, and, showering drops of blessing, immediately disappeared.

A great blessing indeed
- By Nana Ama on 07-03-21
Summary
A beautiful piece of literature by a great saint of the church. St. John of the Cross was a man in search of Christ, a true follower of the ways of God. By only simple observation, it seems that his entire life was swallowed up in the glory and majesty of God, and we have the great privilege of peering into that relationship through his written works. This is a book describing the search of a lovesick soul for her wonderful bridegroom. A truly remarkable spring for anyone desiring a deeper life with God. May you be blessed as you listen to this book!
