About this listen

From the multimillion copy bestseller Amanda Prowse, the queen of heartbreak fiction.

I deserve all this because I did the worst thing a woman can do. The very worst. Jessica's wedding was like a fairytale. Her dress strewn with crystals. Her dad made a tearful speech. Her husband Matthew declared himself the luckiest man alive. But when their beautiful baby girl is born, Jessica is gripped by panic. She can't tell anyone how she feels. Even when her life starts to spiral out of control...

This is her story. A mother's story.

2 minutes in and I wanted to switch off but as I'd bought the recording I persevered. Amanda has written a very graphic and heart braking story which was well written but has been totally butchered by 1) and American male narrator who's monotone would send you to sleep. No emotion or change of tone, simply read with so much miss-pronunciation of British words and place names it's unbelievable. This along with the woeful recording where the attempt to re-read words and sentences that were not edited out and parts of sentences were re-read multiple times was cringe worthy.
Amanda I'm devastated for you that such a powerful story line has resulted it what must be the absolute worst Audible production I've ever listened to. I'll certainly look for more of your work but will listen to the sample BEFORE buying and if it's the same narrator I'll read it!!!!!

wonderful story totally destroyed by narrator

Story really insightful about undiagnosed post natal depression.
Narration ruined it, as predominately female, English storyline narrated by a male American which didn’t do the story justice.

Highlights the struggles of undiagnosed postnatal depression.

An American male voice narrating an English book. Many pronunciation errors and really odd reading where the narrators mistakes don’t seem to have been edited out. One line was repeated around 5 times! The story was good, but many times I wanted to stop listening to the boring voice narrating it. Very disappointed

Awful narration

I never write reviews but I’m so sad and confused. I love Amanda Prowse books. I love her narration as much as her writing. I’m so sad she wasn’t the narrator for this. An American monotone male was such a bizarre choice. So many mistakes and repeated sentences/words, was there no editing of this at all?? So disappointed feeling a bit cheated tbh. Very British content not delivered correctly due to American narrator.

Why Amanda ???
