This first three full novels in Catherine Gayle's Lord Rotheby's Influence series....
Twice a Rake
When Aurora Hyatt loses her journal in Hyde Park, her ruin is a foregone conclusion. If anyone discovers her writings, they'll find scandalous fantasies involving the newest rake in town alongside entirely-too-candid thoughts about her typical dreary suitors. Aurora will either be forced into a loveless marriage with the first nodcock to make an offer, or she'll be assigned a permanent position on the shelf. What catastrophe will God smote down upon her next?
The blasted man will not stop following her. Well, he isn't following her...not exactly. They are just always thrown together, and he's everything she wants but can't have. It is downright infuriating - especially when he kisses her.
Merely a Miss
Miss Jane Matthews feels completely out of place amongst the finery of the ton. She's the daughter of a country vicar, for goodness sake, and nearly a spinster to boot. But when her distant cousin - a dowager duchess, of all people - offers to sponsor her for a season in London, she agrees, but only so she can search for a storefront for her business. Perhaps, in that regard the season won't all be in vain.

Hit and Miss
The first and third novels are to my taste, the second, not so much... it's a bit too wishy-washy. But I won't decry it, it's a personal opinion.
As for Lord Rothesby, he was nonexistent in the last novel, so I have no idea what his influence actually was, but I liked his character.
Finally. The editing (or production) for the third story was lacking. On too many occasions the narrative was pieced together poorly, so sentences were repeated. It didn't overly spoil the story, but it was tedious.
On the whole, I enjoyed this series, I shall certainly seek out more, but it's not a do or die read - I could take it or leave it!

Only enjoyed one of the 3
I should have stuck with the one I had. I bought the bundle thinking the other 2 being included would make for a great listen. Wrong the first book was slow going, couldn't finish the second because it was just the type of over wrought soulful story I detest. Since I already had the last one there it ended for me.
I'm sadly disappointed & feel depressed because I looked forward to a complete series.
Now to be fair it was my fault not to check story lines a lot of people live for personal drama in their reads. I am more a thriller mystery suspenseful regency era with strong leads & good support characters.
