Summary

Reading is Serenity’s favorite pastime, where she can go on one adventure after another. She wonders if anyone can measure up to the heroes in her books. But the adventures soon become real after arriving in America.

A sweet historical romance

A Lady of Refinement is a sweet historical romance perfect for a day when you want to listen to something gentle and light.
I enjoyed the humour in this story. Jonathon decides to get Serenity's attention by taking her literacy classes and I found this endearing. Unfortunately, he listens to her brother's bad advice leading to a few humorous scenes.
Drama and suspense unfold at the same time as a young gang of thieves terrorise the valley. This was a lovely and entertaining listen with a good narration.
I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.
