How did this rubbish even get published? And who thought it was okay to pen the totally deceptive review "Jane Eyre meets the Woman in Black in this gothic supernatural mystery." ? I've wasted 8 hours of my life struggling to listen to this surreal rambling, I lost the plot about half an hour in and got more confused throughout. I'm now at 30 minutes before the end and still have no idea what on earth is going on, but a gothic mystery it is not. Plus the dialogue and terminology is totally anachronistic. Absolutely the worst audiobook I've listened to in years and I wish I'd read the review advising people not to waste their credit on this before purchasing!

Absolute rubbish and a waste of a credit

Don't waste a credit. It sounded so promising with lots of elements I usually love - a spooky house, governess with a secret, echoes of first world war and some spooky goings-on. But it was truly terrible. Made little sense and I barely could be bothered to finish. Narration was OK but the actual story was one of the worst I've listened to all year. Just meandering, corny and made no sense. Really really awful.

Hugely dissapointing
