About this listen
I might be a famous rock star, but inside Fork Lick, NY, my biggest fan is a Merino sheep named Baabara.
I’ve got a hundred reasons why I’ve avoided my family since graduating high school and never looked back – but when my big sis Colleen makes me an uncle times two, I need to meet her little bacon bits. It’s supposed to be an easy breezy visit – rock the babies, quality time with the sheep, and a nice family argument or three. Then I can get back to rescuing my musical career from the dumpster fire I found it in.
Instead, I’m roped into headlining a Fork Lick Festival to save my family’s farm, and conned into sharing a house with bossy Bella Keegan, the famous event planner who I’ve been butting heads with since my first album topped the charts five years ago.
Her attitude is louder than my Fender guitar, and she’s got way too many opinions about what I’m supposed to do about this career crisis I’ve been hiding from everyone outside the industry. The longer I spend in this old farmhouse with Bella, the more the lines blur. Until one night, everything changes.
Suddenly, we’ve got a decision to make.
And no matter which way we write the lyrics, one of us is facing a major fork in the road.
Join authors Lainey Davis, Liz Alden, Karen Grey, Erin Mallon, and Ember Leigh as they share un-baa-lievable tales of love, laughter, and sexy shenanigans, all set in the bucolic fictional town of Fork Lick, New York. Meddling grandmas, nosy neighbors, and boinking abound in these steamy romantic comedies.

Our time at Fork Lick is coming to an end 😢 but I enjoyed my time here, and A Fork in the Road was a great and final addition to the series. Here we are following Jackson and Bella’s (lol) romance story. Jackson is a Bedd, but he has always been different from the rest of his family preferring music and guitars to his family farm. He is now a successful and famous rockstar, busy touring the world. But when his sister Colleen has some good news to share, he heads back home to the family farm for a quick visit with his family. Instead, he finds himself roped into headlining a Fork Lick Festival to help raise money to save the family’s farm. There he bumps into Bella. Bella (again, lol) is a successful events planner. She is hired to plan the festival, which she needs to be successful, not just to help save the Bedd Fellows Farm, but also to help her get a big promotion. She does not expect to bump into Jackson. See Jackson and Bella have a little history. They originally met 5 years previously when Jackson’s first album dropped, and have been butting heads ever since. They never expected to fall for each other. But spending time and getting to know each other, they soon realise that they had so many misunderstandings and misconceptions about each other.
This was an absolute delight to listen to. I loved Jackson and Bella, both individually, as well as together. I really enjoyed their back-and-forth banter, and they had such great chemistry. Jackson was such a sweetheart, who had a tender heart underneath all that seemingly arrogant persona. I just wanted to hug him; his family didn’t understand him, and he felt like the black sheep of the family. He was also having problems with his record label. I loved how his story was explored, and with Bella’s support, he was able to be honest and finally tell his story. Bella was also a great character (not just because she has my name lol), she was very hardworking and determined to do all she could to land her big promotion, and she was such a great support for Jackson.
This was an emotional and angst-filled story. It also included funny moments and banter, and spice of course. I also loved the issues raised in this book about the music industry. It was interesting to read about. A great way to end the Bedd family’s story. Love!
Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon are back, and continue to narrate this series. Their voices are great, and versatile as the characters they are portraying. They were such a pleasure to listen to.

He is struggling with his label, and we get to see how this affects his mental health.
Bella was not what he was expecting when he came home to stay with Gran, but it might just be the one thing he needs.
This was an emotional and angst filled romance, opposites attract, semi second chance. Once they are both able to break through barriers their friendship and romance grows.
I love how encouraging Bella is for Jaxon, and how she’s the one standing up for him and fighting for people to see him for who and what he is.
There was chemistry, passion, banter & spice.
This was a great ending for the Bedd family.
The narration was absolutely on point.
Sweet

I had the pleasure of listening to the audio version, performed by Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge. They both did a really excellent job of highlighting the emotion and the humor in the story. I'm sure that I liked the story more because I listened to it. I would definitely listen to more by this duo.
I received a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.
Entertaining audiobook

With A Fork in the Road the Bedd siblings come full circle, but they sure don’t make it easy! I love that I got to experience this series from beginning to end with their audiobooks and I pretty much binge-listened to all their stories from one to the other. It gave me a fuller picture of not just the farm, but them as individuals and as a family. It also solidified my early statements on these books being standalones. THEY ARE NOT. Sure, technically, if you just wanted a surface read about a boy and a girl finding their HEA with a little baggage, you could call them standalones, but you don’t and they are not. Those are my 2 cents on the subject. Spend them wisely!
Jackson and Bella made for not just a fun and flirty story but also a deeply emotional one as well. Don’t even get me started on Baarbara and her obsession with Jackson because I will begin to laugh and probably never stop! It was an excellent balance humor and “emotional circumstances” and the relationship that Bella & Jackson were navigating warmed my heart and also their individual growths. It was a really great package and when you put their story together with the rest of the Bedd siblings’ stories, you have a very worthy romance fiction binge! #trust
🎤Erin Mallon & Alastair Haynesbridge continued to be outstanding performers with this story. They both made sure to bring the laughs and the emotional turmoil in a way where I felt like I was in the story and it made me extremely happy. I felt this story deeply because of their commitment to the characters and their voices. ✨Outstanding job!✨
