About this listen

‘A beautifully crafted crime mystery I could not put down.’ Anita Davison, author of the Flora Maguire series

Oxford, 1960. As excitement builds for the inaugural beauty pageant, the city is abuzz with anticipation. But the celebration is cut short when one of the leading contestants is found dead.

At first, her death is ruled a suicide. But as a string of sinister pranks and blackmail attempts comes to light, WPC Trudy Loveday and Coroner Clement Ryder are drawn into a complex investigation.

In a world of fierce rivalries and hidden agendas, the list of suspects grows longer by the day. What began as light-hearted competition may have turned into a deadly game. With time running out, Loveday and Ryder must uncover the truth – before the killer strikes again.

A gripping, twisty cosy crime novel, perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Richard Osman and M.C. Beaton.

‘Absolutely loved it… The characters were some of the best I’ve read in a long time.’ Angela Marsons, no. 1 bestselling author of the Kim Stone series

This is the third in the series. I would firstly say go back and start with part one. They could be listened to out of order. But best start at the beginning A Fatal Obsession. that said they are all well written, if at times a little silly and far fetched. But to me that added to the charm of these easy to listen tales. All of which I have enjoyed thoroughly. Stephanie Racine does a great job narrating the stories. I ploughed my way through all three downloading the next straight after finishing one. I recommend highly.

Don’t start with this book, because you won’t appreciate just how good it really is!

Fatal Obsession will get you into the mindset of this group of characters - whom you will absolutely adore - and their real life interactions.

This is a very cleverly written story. The plots that this author creates are the best. Not pedestrian at all. I have read the first 3 books back to back and as there are only 7 written thus far, I’m taking a break, otherwise they would be over waaay too soon!

Brilliant! Just Brilliant!

Well read. Good characters and well constructed plot and conclusion. An enjoyable series, looking forward to the next book.

This is another great plot from Faith Martin. The characters are believable, and all have a place in the story. Brilliantly performed.

Unique storyline

I bought this purely on reviews. When I started reading I was certain I'd made a mistake as the whole package - story, characters are surely meant for the 'young readers' section. Even the narrator sounds as if she's reading for this market. Couldn't finish, maybe I'm just jaded.

Bit Childish
