About this listen

The universe is definitely trying to punish Jennifer Andrews. Her new colleague, Ellaine Baxter, is not only an annoying, ambitious hard-ass, she's the woman who broke Jennifer's best friend's heart. Now, for added torture, they have to drive to a teambuilding conference together.

On their three-hour journey, things go from tense to catastrophic after an unscheduled stop in New Zealand's wildly beautiful Kaimanawa Forest. Getting lost is just the start of the nightmare.

For 44 exhausting hours, the warring pair must find a way to work together. They might even survive...if they don't kill each other first.

An enemies-to-lovers romance about finding love with the person you least expect.

Contains mature themes.

... the writing and editing makes this feel like a first novel. Added to this, although I enjoy listening to different accents - especially antipodean ones - I found this narrator hard to understand quite a bit of the time.

Story is good but...

This is a fun listen with Elaine and Jennifer both rootable characters.

When a prank goes wrong with potentially disasterous consequences it triggers a re-assessment by Jennifer and resolve to face up to her growing feelings.

There is the family challenge of a homophobic parent and realisation that a friend may not be all they appear. On the other side there are some remarkable people and a wonderful younger sister.
