About this listen

Artemis Fowl meets Men in Black in this exhilarating debut middle-grade fantasy, the first in a trilogy filled with #BlackGirlMagic.

Amari Peters knows three things. Her brother, Quinton, has gone missing. No one will talk about it. His mysterious job holds a clue....

So when she’s invited for a trail at the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs, Amari is certain this is her chance to save him. But first she has to get her head around the new world of the Bureau where mermaids, aliens and magicians are real - and her roommate is a weredragon.

Amari must compete for a spot against kids who’ve known this world their whole lives. And with an evil magician threatening the whole supernatural world, Amari has never felt more alone. But if she doesn’t pass the three tryouts, she may never find out what happened to Quinton.

To save her brother, Amari is going to have to fight harder for this than she ever has before....

I loved the diversity of this book and would describe it as ideal for those that want something aligned with the HP universe without the problematic author

A great young teen book that's also great for adulta

Brilliant to listen to in bed and it doesn't take long to get used to the narrator. it is narrated by an American so a bit hard to understand but still really good. I loved this book so much and i really enjoyed listening to it.

It is a thrilling story, it was read with emotion, the and my sister loved it!!!
(The exclamation marks are unnecessary if you are like Terry Pratchet and hate exclamation marks, he thought that 'a man who uses exclamation marks is like a man with knickers on his head' , or something like that)
