At points the narrator is really good and does characters well. However, a lot of the time it sounds like he's reading a serious news story. The intonation is all wrong for this story. It was difficult to listen to at times cos you just switch off. Not engaging. I enjoyed this book when I read it though. Jules Verne is a great author.

An overly descriptive journey under the sea was likely very exciting at the time of release. However, in the day and age of deep sea documentaries, it falls short for me.
There wasn't really a compelling story to lead you through, other than the mysterious nature of Captain Nemo. Of which we are left desperately wanting at the end of the book. We are not provided with any answers or really anything much to think about.
Disappointing to be honest.
