I thought this series was very good, if was remarkably silly but also funny, Mr. Gum himself reminds me of Dick Dastardly, the music and sounds effects were done perfectly and Andy Stanton performed his characters perfectly.

After three kids, I have endured more than my fair share of the good, the bad, and the hopelessly uninspiring in children's fiction. Mr Gum is the only series aimed at 5-10 year olds that will consistently crack up everyone within earshot. Stanton delivers a knowing performance of his bizarre creations. The reading is so memorable that I have to actively discourage my children from imitating the nasal whinnying of The World's Most Disgusting Butcher in public. The songs are sidesplittingly good. You too will find yourself singing the Ten Rules Of Evil as a means of coping with 21st Century life. The stories are gentle, funny, relatable and weird, all at the same time. An absolute hoot.

BREAD BIN!! I mean, what a weirdly great series...
