This text suffers from having to eke out the ideas to make the 101 to be included in the series. It goes from board games to house building and several things in between. It applies the same format to each of the ideas, but this makes it very repetitive and the ideas overlap or are duplicated with little variation. The detail and treatment is too superficial to be of much use and the directions vary between finding a class on the topic to advice on supervising a group - without satisfying either approach. In one instance at least the advice is questionnable in telling you to get and use an Epi-penTM if taking up beekeeping. There are other impracticalities in one section assuming everyone retired has and uses a smartphone and the resources needed lists are too superficial and omit necessary items without taking into account the costs. Most of the ideas are about hobbies or advising on repeated holidays or vacations. There is effort put into cultural and ethnic sensitivities and sometimes around physical limitations the reader may have, but inconsistently and too superficial to be of practical use.

The narrator tried to inject enthusiasm and emotion, but became monotonous in delivery with the rigid format, especially when introducing the idea and then saying it again.

i regret the more than five hours of listening to this litany. I received a free copy, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Smorgasbord of ideas with superficial backup.
