No character differentiations
According to the grammar, the two main protagonists of the story are supposed to be female yet they are narrated by two male voices. Not only that, the rest of the cast are read by the two same voices. I wouldn't have thought that to have each character read by a different person would add to much to the production costs and would have made for a more enjoyable and productive listening experience.

Doesn't really work for me as an Audio Book
I have done several Italian audio books before, where the the audio book has been created with the user in mind - including English and Italian translations. This title has been created without the thought required to make it actually work as an audio book.
I messaged the publishers to advise that a story which is 100% in Italian, with no translations wasn't really much use as a learning tool, I was was simply listening to Italian speakers, with little understanding, or learning... purely hearing words I already know.
I asked if there was an accompanying PDF or if I was misunderstanding anything.
Their response was:
"We recommend picking up the text version as well so that you can read along.
This makes a big difference!"
I always do my Italian on the go, so I found this not fit for purpose... or at least, this should be clearly highlighted ahead of purchase so I knew there was the need for another purchase.
In my opinion, this audio book should be better designed, and at least include the translations in English, so we can build our knowledge quicker.
I have returned this title.

Pleased
Although it's not the kind of story I'd read in English, I really enjoyed it, and felt a huge sense of achievement having read a book in Italian, being a beginner. The whole book is cleverly structured, it being a dialogue is great for simplicity of language, and the narrator is brilliant. Using a kindle helped for when I wanted a quick look-up for vocabulary. I am also using other learning methods, and with this, I could really notice my improvement. thanks to all involved.

Wonderful
I find this book perfect for my learning level which is something like low intermediate. I'm using the audible version in conjunction with the book. They are a perfect combination. Each "conversation" is very short, which makes it easy to work on and digest. My method is to listen first, maybe a few times, and get what I can, then study the text, and then listen again. But everybody will have their own method. The many "Conversations" are actually one story, and the story is very engaging. It pulls me along; it's lots of fun.
There are several other books, rather similar, all I believe by Olly Richards. One of them is called "Short Stories in Italian." It too has a corresponding audio version and is very good, but the stories / chapters are much longer than the "conversations" and so it takes me longer to digest them and sometimes I bog down. But that is a small problem. I highly recommend this one along with the "101 Conversations."
And another book is called "Conversational Italian Dialogues." Each Dialogue is around 200 words, about twice as long as the "Conversations" in "101 Conversations." I think this Dialogues book is also excellent and recommend it highly. However, unlike the other two -- the "Conversations" and the "Stories" -- the Audible version of the Dialogues is hard for me to listen to. One of the readers in each Dialogue is a native speaker, while the other is glaringly not. It's really jarring. But I would recommend the Dialogues book very highly in itself.
Overall, for me, the 101 Conversations, combination of book and audible, hits the mark best, but I think the other two are also excellent. Olly does a great job getting exactly the right level of difficulty mixed with engaging stories and situations.
Thank you Olly!

Surprisingly good
I own a lot of material from Olly Richards and I appreciate how it has helped me in three foreign languages. However, some of the other material was, despite his best efforts, kind of dull at times. With this style of "101 conversations", I think he hit the nail on the head. I expected 101 random and/or dull conversations, but I quickly realized that it was being used as a tool to tell the story. In short, this is a mini novel told through dialogues. Between dialogues, there is a bit of exposition to also helps to advance the story and change the setting. A small glossary is given at the end of each chapter. I was pleasantly surprised that story was actually an art theft mystery! I found myself wanting to know how it would end. That's good -- I believe language learning happens when you a) /need/ to learn, and when the language becomes just a /medium/ instead of the focus of the activity itself. Well done also, Marco Soldà (narrator). Unlike many such books, this person understood that it was his job to bring to life the many characters and their feelings. When the characters are stressed or running, you can tell. When someone is acting clever, you can tell. Overall, it's way better done than a lot of the material for learners where it seems like the only qualification for "voice acting" is the ability to speak the target language.

please make more like this one
I think this book is perfect for someone at an intermediate level. it was an engaging story and you also provided the text, even if I had to buy it separately. Much appreciated. If you make 20 more of them I will buy them all. thank you for this book.
