■戦争を挟んで 今回は、映画の話をしたいと思います。 好きな日本の映画監督を挙げるとしたら、小津安二郎、成瀬巳喜男、川島雄三の三人でしょうか。いずれも戦前から活躍し、70年代に入る前にこの世を去った監督ですが、特に小津さんは、今でも非常に不思議な立ち位置にある人だと私は思っています。 どういうことかと言うと、まず、成瀬は職人的な監督で、男女の微細な感情をとてもうまく映像化する。作品の完成度は高く、しかもおもしろい。通俗的な意味でおもしろいんです。 『浮雲』は成瀬の代表作ですが、こんな作品はもう二度と作れないといった感じに仕上がっている。映し出される風景がとても官能的で、それだけで何かを語ってしまいます。『乱れる』『流れる』なども、あたかも一場のよい芝居を観せられているような作品です。(本文より))内田樹&平川克美の「大人の条件」はこちらから→http://yakan-hiko.com/uchida.html
