 信長の妹、お市の方の悲運の生涯を傍に仕えた盲目のあんま師弥一が語る。浅井長政、柴田勝家に嫁ぎ、戦国の世に翻弄された女の悲しき物語。

三味線も達者な盲目のあんま師弥一は小谷城の浅井家に奉公に上がるが、浅井長政の妻のお市に目をかけられる。

やがて長政はお市の兄の信長と戦うこととなり、お市は侍でない弥一にいつまでも城にいることはないと言うが、弥一はお市を慕い、どこまでも付き従う決意をする。

やがて長政は信長に滅ぼされ、お市と娘たちは助け出されるが、長男の万福丸は信長の命により殺害されてしまう。

信長の死後、お市は柴田勝家の元に嫁ぐが、勝家は羽柴秀吉に戦で敗れ城を取り囲まれる。お市を恋慕する秀吉はなんとかお市と娘たちを救いだそうとするが、お市は勝家と自害する道を選び、弥一は燃えさかる城の中で何者かにお市の娘・茶々を託されたのだった･･･。

谷崎潤一郎

1886年（明治19年）東京日本橋で生まれる。家業が傾き、住み込みで書生となり家庭教師をしながら学業に専念。1908年に東京帝国大学国文科に入学。1910年大貫晶川、小泉鉄らと第2次『新思潮』を創刊、『誕生』や『刺青』などを発表。1911年授業料未納のため退学。1915年 石川千代と結婚、1930年離婚。関東大震災後は関西へ移住し『吉野葛』『春琴抄』を発表。
1931年 古川丁未子と結婚、1934年離婚。1935年森田松子と結婚。1959年 右手に麻痺症状が出て、口述筆記にり執筆。1965年79歳で死去。©2022 PanRolling Asian Genre Fiction Literary Fiction World Literature
