 中国の魔手は、もうそこまで忍び寄っている！
　習近平体制が確立して以降、中国は「戦狼外交」と呼ばれる超攻撃的な外交を繰り広げてきた。アメリカをはじめとする西側国家を舌鋒鋭く批判し、日本などの周辺諸国に対しては軍事力をちらつかせながら恫喝する……。こうした中国の外交姿勢は、当初、「口先だけ」と思われていた。
　しかし、これはけっしてハッタリではなかった。いつの間にか、中国政府の魔手は私たちの周辺に張り巡らされていたのである。
ウィーン条約を無視して、大使館以外の在外拠点を勝手に日本に開設。その中には秘密警察の「派出所」として機能している拠点もある。そこでは、大陸を逃れてきた反体制派中国人の監視や脅迫、留学生からの情報収集、さらにはスパイ行為などがおこなわれているのである。
　著者は日本国内に開設された中国秘密警察の拠点を特定。体当たり取材を試みた。さらに、日本に逃亡中の反体制活動家にインタビューすることにも成功。彼らが日本国内においても中国当局の尾行や監視にさらされている現実を、生々しい脅迫エピソードとともに聞き出している。
　また、SNSを駆使して日本で公然とフェイクニュースを拡散し、「認知戦」を繰り広げる大阪総領事・薛剣にもインタビュー。中国共産党が日本においてどのような宣伝工作を繰り広げているのかを、緻密な取材で解き明かす。
　地を這う取材に徹してきた筆者。その取材で明らかになってきたのは、「中国はマジで危険な国家になった。それは長年中国ウォッチャーをしてきた自分の想像をはるかに超えている」（筆者の言葉）である。
