「空き家 中編」(21分) 真ん中の家の母屋の裏手の勝手口に据えられていたポストに書かれた家主の名前は前年の地図にある名前と一致し一安心した時、汚れた勝手口のガラス戸から中が見えた。 古い土間、昔ながらの洗い場、正面には板の間があるが台所にもかかわらずその板間には炬燵があり、夏だというのに八十代くらいのお爺さんが炬燵に入って迎えにある電源の入っていないテレビをポカンとみている。 一応と思い声をかけたが老齢のせいか、あるいは認知症のためか反応がない。 致し方なく最後の一軒を訪ねた。ほかの二軒と違い新しめの住宅から出てきたのは六十年配の主婦だった。聞けば隣とは親戚同士だというが、隣は一人住まいだったお爺さんが先年亡くなって以来空き家だという。
