十五日まで待ってくれと頼んだものの、家賃を４カ月も滞納していた彼の頼みは聞き入れられず、十日の晩には引っ越すと言って、なんとかその場を収めるしかなかった。妻は実家へ金策に行ってから連絡が無い。友人たちにも借りた金を返せず距離を置かれている。とうとう期日になり、行く当てもないまま仕方なく子供たちを連れて家を出た。
