「中小企業の救世主」の初期著作集・第2弾

本書は『マネジメントへの挑戦』に続く、一倉定の初期著作シリーズの復刻版2作目である。

原書の発行は、『マネジメントへの挑戦』から4年がたった1969年、執筆は前年の1968年。

「いざなぎ景気」のさなかにあり、日本のGNP(国民総生産)が旧西ドイツを抜いて、米国に次ぐ世界第2位になったのも、この1968年だった。

しかし、個々の企業活動においては競争の激化や人件費の高騰などにより大型倒産が相次いだ。

そうした時代の変質を受け、マネジメントの見直しが問われていたときに、中小企業を中心に経営者の救世主となったのが一倉定だった。

人間の営みである経営というのは、あまたの企業の失敗を経て、基本的には時間と共に進化するものだと思う。

しかし、50年以上前の本書の内容は、現代に書かれた新刊書と見まがうほどの新鮮さを有する。

この事実をどう受け止めればいいか。

ともあれ、時代に左右されない経営の本質を突いていることの証左であることは確かである。
