Deep down, we're all animals

Joe Cassidy's keen interest in animal behaviour, and its relation to humans, was part of what made him a great detective. That was before a particularly sadistic case sent him over the edge. Now retired, he suffers from PTSD and lives alone in a shack in Dungeness, wracked with guilt. When the daughter of an old friend goes missing, Joe is inexorably drawn into the case. The search for the truth, and his own redemption, can begin.
