Listen to original audio plays starring LAMDA students and commissioned from some of the UK's most exciting emerging writers, including Thara Popoola and Karla Williams.

Series 1

Episode 1 follows Carly who yearns to escape her small hometown near the Kent coast, haunted by uneasy dreams and a terrible crime. In episode 2, 'The Falling', a young journalist desperate for her first big story investigates mysterious happenings in Holloway Prison. We enter a fast-moving fantastical world in episode 3, 'Pow Fcking Pow', where superpowers are unleashed, and finally, episode 4, 'Locusts', sees men and women injected with a new miracle cure with devastating consequences.

Series 2

Series 2 begins with 'Bear Trap', where the town of Penn Heights are dealing with the disappearance of children. Are bears really to blame? Episode 2, 'Rosehill', follows three generations of one family haunted as they try to bury their trauma. The series continues with episode 3, 'Half Blue', a coming-of-age story which follows Alex, a teenage lifeguard grieving the death of her mother, and finally, we conclude with 'Sunrise Farm', a contemporary thriller that asks – how can you trust the system when nobody trusts you?

Series 3

'Ghost Pine' is the first episode in series 3, a horror western about the consequences of nature being out of balance. In episode 2, 'When a Breath Ignites a Flame', we enter a world of corruption and conspiracies where every breath costs you. The final episode of the series, 'Ghosts in the Blood', follows two asylum seekers waylaid in London on their way to Canada with a host of spirits and ancestors working behind the scenes.

Series 4

This series of GNR8 begins with 'Bad Seed', where two postgraduate students podcasting their feminist series ‘Bloody Women’ find themselves drawn into a thirty-year old mystery. Episode 2, 'Famous', explores themes of celebrity, cancel culture and deception. The series continues with 'Initiation', where two student journalists seek the truth about a tragedy at a university rugby team initiation. Finally, we conclude with 'Son Of', where Tommy Pugh faces promoting the biggest boxing fight the UK has ever seen, all while in the shadow of his legendary father.

Series 5

The first episode 'The Deity and The Fly' sees a newcomer pitted against the locals while in 'Slay' two ambitious podcast hosts investigate a string of deaths in London. The podcast continues with 'Duty of Care' which follows a woman whose child is taken away and another woman who mysteriously resurfaces with a new child. The final episode 'Simulacrum' asks 'What if this isn’t all there is?' when after the death of her sister a young woman seeks the help of a cold case podcaster to understand what happened.

Our partnership

In 2018, we announced a new creative partnership with LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) aimed at investing in the next generation of acting talent through scholarships and training opportunities. Since then, numerous workshops have taken place at our state-of-the-art studios, with tutorials on everything from microphone technique to career advice from top industry professionals. As a continuation of the partnership, Audible have also supported with £150,000 of funding to the drama school and three scholarships for undergraduate students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
