After spending four years at Southampton University (1968-72) Steve lasted six months as a City of London investment analyst. The nine to five suited 'n booted lifestyle was not for him, so he packed his bags and headed out into the world. Since then he has had an interesting time during which he survived three broken hearts, almost dying of thirst at sea and nearly blowing himself up in the Australian outback. In short, he’s had an eventful life which is far from over. Now settled in a remote part of Thailand, it seemed a natural step to draw on one of his more extreme experiences to write a novel. His first effort has resulted in Broken Fingers. Based around people he knew in the 1970s and his six-week stay in a Tangier prison, Broken Fingers explores our extraordinary drive to survive and the power of love to heal. Instinct and emotion are, for him, what life is all about. Although a work of fiction, it has authenticity at its heart and most characters resemble people he has known. Steve hopes you enjoy reading it as much as he did writing it. He is currently writing a sequel which he hopes to publish later this year. Steve will post any updates here.
