Sarah Bowen Shea is a health and fitness writer living in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and three young children; she is a contributing editor for Runner's World magazine. She and good friend Dimity McDowell co-wrote Run Like a Mother, a book borne out of an assignment for Runner's World when they both trained and ran the 2007 Nike Women's Marathon. The duo followed it up with Train Like a Mother, which has the same witty, conversational style as their first book but TLAM includes nine training plans that accommodate a busy lifestyle. To foster and support the community of mother runners that coalesced around the two books, Sarah and Dimity founded Another Mother Runner, a virtual aid station for women runners that includes a website, podcast, and Facebook page. Dimity and Sarah also appear at numerous race expos around the U.S., speaking and promoting their two books. They plan to write a third book about women and running in 2013. Sarah is an avid runner and former competitive rower who owns up to being somewhat obsessed with exercise. She's run nine marathons, including the scorchingly hot 2012 Boston Marathon. Sarah is going international for marathon #10: the BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 5, 2013. The duo of Sarah and Dimity can be found on their weekly podcast, Another Mother Runner, available for free download on iTunes. Check out their book fan page on Facebook at Run Like a Mother: The Book and their website, anothermotherrunner.com. Converse with Sarah and Dimity on Twitter @TheMotherRunner, and find Sarah on Twitter @SBSontherun; the gals are on Pinterest as Another Mother Runner. In a nutshell: Sarah and Dimity aren't going to rest until everywhere you turn, you see another mother runner!
