About Rik Stone
Rik Stone writes high-octane thriller novels forged from a lifetime of true adventure and gritty, real-world experience. His books are known for their rich historical detail, complex plots, and suspenseful, fast-paced action.
Born amidst the tough industrial landscape of 1950s North East England, Rik left school at fifteen without academic qualifications. His early life was defined by hard, honest labor—working the shipyards, sailing the world with the merchant navy, and mastering the grueling demands of quarries in South East England. It is this firsthand exposure to hard work, danger, and diverse cultures that gives his thrillers their uniquely authentic, raw edge.
Driven by a relentless desire to learn, Rik later transitioned from manual labor to academics, defying the odds to earn a BSc degree in mathematics and computer science. He went on to forge a successful career in the IT sector.
Yet, books were always his first love, and the dream of writing fiction never faded. Taking early retirement from the tech world finally gave Rik the freedom to unleash his storytelling. That leap of faith resulted in his explosive debut novel, Birth of an Assassin—the opening salvo in a celebrated thriller series.
Today, Rik lives in Essex, UK, with his wife, where he continues to craft the high-stakes adventures his readers love.

The truth is, I’ve always been a storyteller at heart. Every quarry I worked, every ship I boarded, and every vibrant corner of the world I visited left me with a treasure trove of sights, sounds, and unforgettable characters.
When I finally retired from my second career in the IT sector, I decided the time had come to put those decades of real-world grit onto the page. I wanted to write the kind of books I love to read: fast-paced, historically rich, and filled with the complex realities of life on the edge.
