Meet P. Huang, a lover of science, a health enthusiast, an aspiring puppy mom, and a newly self-published author in the personal finance space for teens and young adults. After finishing college with a chemistry degree and landing her first job in the U.S. as an international student, Huang realized how underprepared many teens and young adults feel about managing money and creating a secured financial future due to the lack of proper financial education and guidance. Money management has been a subject of interest for Huang because growing up, money was the primary source of stress in her family and other adults she knew. Having to navigate the financial system in the U.S. as an outsider, Huang understands the challenges international students and young adults face when trying to build their credit score from zero or figuring out how to invest for retirement. Her experiences inspired her to write on the topic and advocate for early financial literacy. Her debut book, “What the Finance: Real-World Financial Literacy Skills Teen and Young Adults Can’t Afford to Miss,” aims to help teens and young adults kickstart their financial journey, take control of their finances, and find their financial happy place. The book underlines the importance of early financial literacy and provides a simple approach to budgeting, saving, paying off debts, and investing for beginners. When she is not writing or analyzing drugs using the mass spectrometer in the lab, you can find her working out at the gym, walking on a trail, reading personal development books, and listening to a variety of podcasts.
