Nick Oakes hails from Indianapolis, Indiana, and spent most of his first three decades on Earth there. He currently dwells in suburban Washington, D.C. on the Maryland side, and works as a science writer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. When he’s not writing about how the Sun works, you can find him in front of the TV at home, probably working on a new story or a piece of digital art to go with one, or else exploring the city with his cohort of local friends.
