Marcus is the author of Learn to Subdue Your Passions: A Guide for Modern Living and Beyond the Ten Doors. His work has also been published in several newsletters including the Illinois Council of Deliberation's Clarion and The Grand Lodge of Ohio's The Ohio Beacon. He tackles topics specifically of intereset to Freemasons but that are widely applicable to individual self-improvement. Marcus became a member Fidelity Lodge #20 MWPHGL of DC in 2006. He later demitted his membership to King David Lodge #100 MWPHGL of Illinois in 2010. He was elevated as a Scottish Rite Mason by Western Concistory #28 and was president of his class in 2011. In 2012, he joined Oriental Chapter #21 where he became a Royal Arch Mason. Originally from Chicago, he studied Chemical Engineering at Howard University. Marcus returned to Chicago and now resides with his wife and children.
